This remote country made up of 26 coral atolls that are spread through the Northern Indian Ocean. This along attract people from all over the world seeking a tropical island get away from families to couples to even surfers.
On my venture to the Maldives, I visited a place in the south Male Atoll on an island called Guraidhoo. The island is only as big as the resort with making the round trip around the island only a 10 minute walk. It is the definition of tropical island get away.
Being on such a small island you'd think there would be be much to do, wrong. there is an abundance of water and land activities to cater to everyone's taste. The first of which would be surfing from beginners to experts the resort has way to get you in the beautiful warm water. They offer lessons to beginners in mellow waves with friendly locals to help you pick it up. For more seasoned surfers they have a private point on island that is world class. In addition to this they have daily boat trips to reefs up and down the atoll to offer wide variety of waves.
In addition to this they have kayaking, windsurfing, banana boat rides, wake boarding, stand-up paddle boarding just to name a few of the other water sports. They also some of the best snorkeling int he world. A 10 minute boat rides from the resort is the famous turtle point where some of the most pristine reefs are home to an abundance of turtles. If you fancy a more in depth look at the reef they offer guided diving tours to 12 meters down where you can see the Maldives from a whole new perspective.
On land their are also sports and activities for all. Soccer volleyball are just a couple. Of more importance is the food. The resort has 3 restaurants serving all sorts of cuisine from around the world all while you look out over the pool and watch amazing sunsets.
The Maldives has something for anyone seeking a island getaway surrounded by the most pristine waters I have ever seen. Miles from anywhere you will be immersed in the relaxing island life with not a worry int he world.
