California, who hasn't heard of it! The rich a famous' playground but it is a playground for almost anybody.
Starting from from 'SoCal' you are in the quaint city of San Diego with beautiful beaches and restaurants as you walk around the streets. San Diego also has the world famous San Diego Zoo. This is home to species from all over the world and has something for everyone. Just to the south of San Diego you have the Mexican border where you can experience a whole new country within the space of a couple hours.
As you work your way up the coast you reach the world famous Disneyland, every child's dream theme park. Not far from here you also have access to some more theme parks that include Knots Berry Farm and Lego land.
About a 40 minute drive further north and you reach Los Angeles. Home to some the world most famous people and one of the most cultural diverse places on the planet. Venice beach is something you have to experience to understand. It the whole of the weird and wonderful. Of course you can't go to LA and not see Hollywood.
This is home to Madame Tussaud where you can get up close and famous with all the celebrities. You can also see the Chinese theartre and also the celebrity stars imprinted on the sidewalk.
As you continue on your trip of California you can drive the 101 freeway that winds along the coast along cliffs and pass through many small towns with their own unique taste. Heading inland you come to one of the most pristine National Parks in America, Yosemite. There are several small places to stay and get in touch with your wild side. Bears are common sightings, so watch out!
Last but definitely not least is 'Norcal' home to San Francisco. There is plenty to do in San Fran from the Golden Gate Bridge to the steepest street in America that overlooks the city. San Fran also has a lot of cultural hubs with the China town quite a popular place to each and hang out. There is also little Italy that has an abundance of pizzerias. Of course you can't go to San Francisco without visiting Alcatraz. There are tours that can take you around the island and you can learn a lot about what used to go on when it was a functional prison.
California, the golden state, well all you can say is that it is really the golden state!
