Bali - Something a little different

Bali is something that will take you by surprise upon arrival that is for sure.  From the moment you step outside the airport terminal you are greeted by locals all bustling for your business in taxi and pretty much anything else you could ask for, anything that is. When you hop into a car over on your way to any of the tourist mecca's such as Kuta and Legian, you drive past some unusual sights from petrol stands selling petrol filled vodka bottle to families of 5 all crammed on the back of one little moped.

Once you reach your hotel of villa you are instantly pulled from over crowded streets into a peaceful tropical retreat, but strangely you are left wanting more of the bustling streets and the endless surprises it has to offer.  Even you can't escape it on the beaches.

On the kilometers of beach from Kuta all the way up to Seminyak the last of the tourist hotspots there are people carry more items that one could possibly imagine you could carry always offering you a good price. Beyond that is the warm waters of the northern Indian Ocean where surfers from all the around the world converge on some of the most consistent waves in the world.

Bali is situated in such a place swell is almost a certainty during the winter months making it a surfing mecca for Australia seeking to get away from the cool winter weather.  Some of the most famous waves include Uluwatu which is situated a the bottom of huge sea cliffs with restaurant and bars sitting precariously on the cliffs edge providing a perfect viewing platform for watching surf or viewing some of the best sunsets.  There is also the
Uluwatu Beach Cave
Kuta reefs, Padang Padang and Keramas just to name a few.

In Bali there is an endless amount of activities to do.  Some of which are further from the beaches up in the rice fields and forest of Ubud.  The Ubud monkey forest is a walk through forest where tourist can get up close and personal with monkeys with no cages.  Up in the rice paddies there is also guided bike tours that explore the the expansive hills filled with rice paddies and even within these there are white water rapids that cater to all different groups depending on the time of year.

Back down in the bustling town of Kuta you can enjoy a spash around at Waterbom Bali with waterslides and water activities to keep you cool while you soak up the warm tropical sun. After a long day in sun food and a drink are almost certainly on your mind.

Your in luck, Bali has an abundance of five star restaurant to traditional street food.  To top the day off you can enjoy both eating styles along the beach as the tropical sun sets over the beaches on the western side of the island.  If you fancy a night out Bali is the place for this also.  The SkyGarden in the heart of Kuta.  This multistory club has everything from a roof top bar to small stages to an enormous stage downstairs that is at times host to some big names in Music.

Bali really has something for everyone and will definetly take you by surprise, check it ouf for yourself!
